Digital tickets are now in use for matches in Aviva Stadium. We have compiled the following Frequently Asked Questions as a guide on how to use digital tickets on your mobile device.

I’ve added my ticket to my mobile wallet. Why does it not have a barcode?

Your ticket is NFC enabled, meaning you can just tap your ticket from your mobile wallet at the turnstile for entry. No barcode is required.

I have added my ticket to my Apple Wallet, but it is now saying ‘Pass Disabled’?

This means the email address used on your Apple ID has been previously linked to a Ticketmaster account that is using a different email to your IRFU account. You just need to scan the barcode from your IRFU account rather than using the Apple Wallet ticket.

I can’t see the Add to Wallet button in my account?

Try turning your phone on its side and scrolling down. This is usually as a result of the zoom settings on your phone

How do I gain entry using my Apple wallet ticket?

  1. Locate your ticket in the Apple wallet.
  2. You will see a ‘hold near reader’ message, meaning you can tap the pass at the entry point if you see a contactless symbol (iPhone 6 onwards are NFC compatible).

How do I gain entry using my Google Wallet ticket?

  1. Locate your ticket in the Google Wallet app.
  2. If your device is not compatible, you will see a rotating barcode which will need to be scanned.
  3. If you see a ‘hold to reader’ message, you can present your phone to the contactless entry point.
  4. Depending on which brand and model of Android phone you are using, the NFC antenna may be located in different positions. If you are unsure, you may need to try the top, middle or bottom of your device.

My Mobile wallet/NFC/contactless isn’t working, how do I access my ticket’s barcode?

iPhone

  1. Log in to your IRFU Account Manager and find your tickets in My Events
  2. Scan the rotating barcode at the turnstile for entry

Android

  1. View your ticket in Google Wallet
    2. Tap Show code
    3. You’ll be presented with your SafeTix rotating barcode. Scan this at the turnstile for entry.

I can’t access my package tickets in the Ticketmaster app, what should I do?

Your package tickets for the upcoming Autumn Nations Series games will not be available on Ticketmaster app, package tickets are only available on IRFU Account Manager.

My ticket is scanning invalid on the turnstile scanner. What do I do?

If you have received your ticket as a transfer from someone else, please ensure that you are accessing the ticket from your own account and not using a screenshot or the original purchaser’s version of the ticket. Log in to your own Ticketmaster account on IRFU Account Manager page and use the barcode for entry.

If you have already transferred your ticket to someone else, your original ticket is no longer valid for entry.

Can mobile tickets be scanned through a screen protector?

Yes – there should be no issue using a phone that has a clear screen protector.

What happens if my barcode doesn’t scan properly?

We recommend turning your screen brightness to the highest setting. If that doesn’t work, your ticket can be validated by having the event staff manually enter your ticket number directly into the scanner.

Can I use a screenshot of my ticket?

No, screenshots will not get you in. A mobile ticket must be provided either within the mobile website or within your mobile wallet to gain entry. Additionally, you’ll not be able to transfer tickets using a screenshot.

What if my phone breaks, dies, or is lost/stolen before I arrive?

If you lose your phone, have a cracked screen, or run out of battery – no problem. Simply visit the Ticketmaster kiosk at the Aviva Stadium upon arrival. Have your ID handy and we can issue you a printed ticket.

How do I access multiple tickets on my phone?

If you have guests and multiple tickets on your phone when you arrive, swipe to navigate between them and scan/tap each one in turn.

Can I use a printed ticket for entry?

Print-at-home tickets will not be available as an option for the Autumn Nations Series. Mobile tickets are fully digital and only accessible on your mobile device. Printouts and screenshots will not be accepted at entry.

I didn’t accept my ticket transfer in time. What do I do?

Please go to the Ticketmaster kiosk at the Aviva Stadium with proof of ID to receive your ticket.

The IRFU’s Accessibility Scheme provides supporters with a disability, or other access requirements, the opportunity to avail of tickets in dedicated accessible seating areas in Aviva Stadium on match days. The IRFU want as many supporters as possible to have access to their events and in order to meet a growing demand, it is necessary to put a policy in place so that customers have fair and equitable access to tickets.

You can register your interest for Accessible tickets for games by emailing: Tickets@irishrugby.ie

Due to the level of demand for tickets, the IRFU operate a balloting system for all rugby fixtures at Aviva Stadium. By submitting an application, it does not guarantee you tickets.

While the IRFU understands that supporters like to sit together, in the case of accessible areas, these areas need to be available to as many as possible, thus making it necessary to restrict these areas to those only with accessibility needs and their Personal Assistant (PA). Other supporters wishing to accompany wheelchair/accessible users and their (PA) should access tickets through the normal distribution channels. If the support of an additional PA is medically required, please let us know within the application and we will review accordingly.

Tickets are categorised and the following should be noted:

  • Supporters who need an assistance dog in attendance should highlight this in the application
  • Wheelchair Accessible space – A space for the supporter in wheelchair including a (PA) to accompany
  • Accessible Seating – A seat in an accessible area for ambulant supporters including a (PA) to accompany
  • Seat close to pitch – Seating for supporters with visual impairment including a (PA) to accompany

Please note that a (PA) will not be able to make use of their ticket unless you are in attendance.

In order to ensure an equitable system, proof of disability should accompany an application for tickets in accessible areas to ensure the area is reserved for those who need additional support to access the game(s). IRFU request a copy supporting documentation be provided with the application. Documentation will only need to be provided once as we will update our system for any future applications. Examples of accepted documentation include the below:

  • Disability Allowance (DA)
  • Domiciliary Care Allowance (DCA)
  • Invalidity Pension
  • Blind Welfare Allowance
  • Constant Attendance Allowance
  • Blind Pension
  • A personal letter on headed paper outlining access requirement from your hospital specialist
  • A personal letter on headed paper outlining access requirements from your GP
  • Middle or Higher rate Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
  • Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
  • Attendance Allowance (AA)
  • Severe Disablement Allowance (SDA)
  • Certificate of visual impairment (CVI)
  • War Disablement Pension
  • The Access Card (details available from www.accesscard.org.uk)
  • EHCP

Once the ballot is complete and tickets have been secured, an email will be sent in relation to payment, including a closing date by which payment will need to be completed. In the case of non-payment by the date indicated, the ticket will be allocated to someone else within the ballot system.

You can request parking on the application form if required. Please note parking passes on match days are subject to availability and not guaranteed. Please provide a copy of a valid Blue Badge / Permit when requesting a parking pass.

If you have a temporary injury or mobility issue and only require accessible seating for a game, you will need to apply no later than seven days before each game you are due to attend so that, subject to availability, we can assist in relocating you to somewhere suitable. (Please note that you will be required to pay the price difference if you are relocated to a higher category seat)

We appreciate your cooperation with this policy. We hope to accommodate as many people as necessary, but in the event that we cannot provide tickets to all we wish to ensure that accessible tickets are allocated in a fair manner. If you have any questions, please email tickets@irishrugby.ie

Many thanks for your continued support, we look forward to welcoming you soon to the home of Irish Rugby.
